We met at an Orientation Week BBQ on our third day at Cornell. We became fast friends, bonding over late-night wings at Nasty’s.
The FriendZone was full of fun. We took the same classes in ILR, and lived it up as some of the only Sophomores living in Collegetown. In 2009, Kenyon even visited Carversville Day (Dan’s hometown fair in PA).
Throughout college, we served as each other’s perfect backup date for formals and wine tours - just there to have fun, nothing romantic…
By graduation, we started to suspect feelings beyond just friendship. Dan went to work in an Italian summer camp and met up with the Corys in Rome. For the weekend, Dan had to “pretend to be Kenyon’s boyfriend.”
We both moved to New York in August 2011, and quickly discovered the “more than just friends” vibes were real. The early days of Real Life were kind of like college, but with paychecks!
We moved in together in July 2015 and adopted Etta in October of that year. After what will be 4 years living together, 8 years of dating, and 12 years of friendship, we are finally making it official in October 2019!
